Badkhal Lake near Faridabad

The water in this beautiful lake is dried up because of low rainfall, illegal mining around the area and poor maintenance by the authorities of the Government. This lake has been a favorite spot for local residents for years.

Paradise for Bird watchers

Even though the water in the lake is all dried, one can enjoy the beauty of the green terrain that surrounds this lake. It is also a place where one can sit and watch flocks of migratory birds visiting during the winter season. 

Winter is also the time when maximum number of tourists from surrounding cities visits this place for picnics and for some fun. Bird watchers find this lake a paradise in winter and they cannot get tired of watching various species of birds near this lake.

Flower Show in Badkal Lake

Every year in the rainy season, a flower show is organized here, where different varieties of flowers are put on display. And the visitors can also see small streams near the lake that come from the Aravali hills make it look beautiful. One can also enjoy camel rides and horse rides along the lake.

Lake Revival

The Government of Haryana along with the tourism department has decided to take steps revive the Badkhal lake and give back its lost glory. Once the lake is restored, it will once again be a big tourist attraction in Faridabad. The government has given the contract to revive the lake to a private company that will analyze the reasons for the lake being dried and take necessary steps to bring back water in to the lake along with some fun water activities.

Resorts near the lake

People can find resorts and food joints near the Badkhal Lake. The Haryana Government Tourism department has its own restaurant and cottages where the tourists can buy food and hire cottages. Apart from the Government cottages, one can find many resorts around the lake that offer rooms at affordable rates if the tourists want to retire for the day and spend the evening in the serene environment. The resorts offer both AC and non AC rooms with Wifi facility and complementary breakfast.

Attractions near Badkhal Lake

People can visit other places like Shiridi Sai baba temple, Parson Mandir, Dhauj lake,Wild camp, Raja Nahar Singh Palace, CITM Lake and Baba Farid's Tomb. It is a great place ot spend a relaxed weekend away from the crowds and noise of the city. One can definitely have fun with family in this beautiful Lake.

Train : The EMU 64167 is the first Train that goes to Badkhal Lake in Faridabad and  EMU 64076 is the last Train that goes to Badkhal Lake in Faridabad. It stops nearby at 12:35 AM.
